Due to the increase in population to supply drinking water to Shiraz, this project with a capacity of 3 cubic meters per second, including 70 km of transmission line, a pumping station, 4 km of tunnels and a treatment plant was considered. The total capacity of the new treatment plant is 3 cubic meters per second, which is designed based on reducing turbidity and eliminating microbiological species. Reduction of turbidity is achieved by rapid mixing, coagulation, precipitation (in pulsators) and separation, and removal of microbiological species by chlorination. The treated water is transferred by gravity flow from the storage tank to the water distribution network of Shiraz.
