Two hundred thousand cubic meters of Persian Gulf desalination plant in Bandar Abbas is one of the seawater desalination facilities for transfer to Gol Gohar, Sarcheshmeh and Chadormelo mines in the Persian Gulf water supply and transfer project.
This desalination plant has been constructed by Sazeh Sazan Company in the form of BOO contract. Sea water is transferred by the Persian Gulf Water Supply and Transmission Company and from the Asia Water Company to the desalination plant, and after desalination, both the desalinated water and the condensed effluent are returned to the Persian Gulf Water Supply and Transmission Company. The treated or desalinated water is transported to industry and the effluent is discharged to the sea.
The capacity of the Persian Gulf desalination plant is 200,000 cubic meters per day, which according to the recycling factor, more than 500,000 cubic meters of seawater per day should be provided through the reservoir and transferred to the desalination plant. Thus, about 300,000 cubic meters of condensed wastewater will be discharged into the sea around the clock. This is done through three pipelines.
Tehran Boston Engineers Company was responsible for reviewing the hydraulic studies of these three lines (Technical Review Consultancy (TRC)) when nearly 90% of the executive operations were completed, in order to achieve the required reliability of hydraulic desalination facilities for commissioning and operation.
