The purpose of this project is to increase the transfer capacity of drinking water from the downstream of Karaj Dam to the northwest of Tehran through the construction of a 30 km long catchment and transfer tunnel with a flow rate of 16 cubic meters per second to supply water to the sixth treatment plant in Tehran.
